It is named 'Love in Cana' because 'at the beginning of His public life, Jesus performed His first miracle at a wedding feast at the request of His mother. The Church attaches great importance to Jesus' presence at the wedding at Cana. Here, the Church sees Jesus affirming the goodness of 'marriage' and understands Jesus' proclamation: from then on, marriage would become an efficacious sign of Christ's presence.'

The 'Love in Cana' Catholic marriage project, established in 2014, is dedicated to the mission of assisting unmarried Catholics in building Christian families with partners of a shared faith. Through singles social events, Catholic marriage education, and dating platforms such as our website, we help parishioners meet partners with consistent values and faith within the Church amidst their busy lives, allowing the family's faith to be passed down from generation to generation. In May 2021, the founder of 'Love in Cana', Father Ou Yi-Ming of the Maryknoll Society, was called to the Lord. The 'Love in Cana' project was taken over and continued by Archbishop Thomas Chung An-zu of the Archdiocese of Taipei. At the end of 2024, because the 'Love in Cana' and Catholic Friendship Center team serves unmarried young adults in the Church with the goal of building Christian families, Archbishop Chung invited this team to join the Family Section, Office of Pastoral Care and Evangelization, Archdiocese of Taipei. With this team building upon the foundation of 'Love in Cana' in establishing Catholic families, it continues to expand and extend into family services for the Archdiocese of Taipei. On Pentecost in 2025, Archbishop Chung promulgated the Pastoral Letter of the Archdiocese of Taipei: 'Walking on the Path of Hope'. The Archbishop mentioned that pastoral and evangelization work requires collective wisdom and joint efforts. To this end, he set four directional goals, inviting every believer to jointly respond, support, and practice them at the personal, family, and parish levels. Among these four directional goals, an important part is: 'Valuing family relationships and being open to life'. Its connotation is to strengthen family pastoral care, including aspects such as premarital counseling, couples' spirituality, parent-child education, and caring for the elderly, in order to serve more families in need. To accompany every family through the ups and downs of life, and encourage believers to pass on the values of faith and life within the family.
